How I’m Still Becoming “Wife Material”

January 1, 2019 by Sarah 28 Comments

Wife Material Proverbs 31 Woman

Years before I met my husband I wrote a piece called, Wife Material. It was going to be a chapter in the book I would write someday. Now that I’ve been married over three years it seems ridiculous to write about how to become wife material, when in fact, one of my biggest lessons from marriage so far is that I’m still trying to learn it myself. How I'm Still Becoming "Wife ... Read More »

A Day In The Life of a Work-At-Home Mom

September 9, 2018 by Sarah 24 Comments

Ever want to take a sneak peek into other people's lives?  Lately, I've been curious about what a work-at-home mom schedule should look like since I currently am one. Do other moms follow a similar schedule to mine? What do we all do the same? What do we do differently? While I figure out the answers to my questions about what other moms do, I thought I'd give a little glimpse ... Read More »

What’s In My Minimalist Hospital Bag?

Minimalist Hospital Bag Labor Bag

A month from my due date I started reading every article I could on what to pack for the hospital. I wanted to make sure I had everything I needed to make labor easier (HA!), and to feel comfortable afterwards. But the "simple living" girl inside me only wanted to pack a minimalist hospital bag - free from all unnecessary items and only full of what I really ... Read More »

It’s Time To Take A Digital Detox

March 19, 2018 by Sarah 47 Comments

phubbing is ruining our relationships

When's the last time you've been "phubbed?" You know what I mean, you're having brunch with a friend while she's texting someone else the whole time. Or, you think your husband is listening to you talk about your day, complete with "uh-huhs,”  only to look up and see his eyes glued to his phone. I only have a baby now so we don't allow her to text yet, but I can imagine how ... Read More »

7 Ways to Survive Morning Sickness At Work

March 5, 2018 by Sarah 37 Comments

How to survive morning sickness at work

If you're one of the many women who worked throughout your pregnancy with morning sickness then you know it's not just about surviving work but surviving each day. During my first trimester, I spent almost every hour curled up on the couch, except for the times my husband had the unfortunate luck of seeing me throw up in the sink because I couldn't make it to the bathroom. (I ... Read More »

Instagram post 2195801595474789090_3951411711 No, she wouldn’t smile for Santa, but it’s a vast improvement from last year where she cried just at the sight of him. 🎅😂
Instagram post 2195175549708764633_3951411711 What’s your favorite Christmas tradition? 🎄 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As we grow our family I’m looking forward to creating more of our own! This year though, my sisters and I are starting one of our own. Instead of spending a ton of money on each other we’re going to be making each other homemade gifts! I’m really excited to see what we all make. 🎁 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do you have a tradition you look forward to each year? Will you be starting a new one? ❄️
Instagram post 2192414669744927537_3951411711 Two years ago this week we found out we were having a little girl. And now I can’t imagine life without her. 💕
Instagram post 2190122047114384431_3951411711 It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! 🎄 My tropical tree is up. 🌴 Are you decorations up yet?

I interrupt my usual “homemaking” posts to bring you a more personal look at my life. We visited daddy at work today and I just had to share. 😍

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📌This week on the blog, I made the easiest DIY stenciled canvas bags that can be used as Christmas gifts, or to carry home your next grocery haul. Thank you @stencilrevolution for sending the super cute stencils for this project!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📍Now, here’s the good part. I’m teaming up with @stencilrevolution to give one person $30 worth of stencils from their shop. You can make your own stenciled canvas bag or pick out something else. The possibilities are endless: you could also make homemade wrapping paper for Christmas, a DIY growth chart for your kid, or even stencil an accent wall. 💕

Instagram post 2182757798394383722_3951411711 😴 I’ve been having trouble sleeping lately. To be honest, I’ve been having trouble sleeping ever since Penny was born. I think this guy could tell the last couple of nights have been rough because he’s been cuddling up on my pillow.😻
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💤 I’ve tried lavender essential oils, sleep gummies, and Epsom salt baths. Penny’s been sleeping through the night for almost a year-and-a-half and yet I can’t seem to tell my brain it’s OK for me to stay asleep too.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If anyone has a cure for “mom sleep” please let me know. 🤗
